Bi-directional DAW Sync

Hi :)

Quite a few people seem to be asking for this, and there is no topic to discuss it. The idea is to sync the Nome tightly to your DAW using the plugin, but at the same time to let your DAW be controlled by the Midronome.

I think this could work if:
  1. DAW -> Nome is a synchronisation (i.e. tight)
  2. Nome -> DAW is control only (i.e. set the tempo and play/stop)
For Ableton, we could use this for point 2: https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000038859

I'm afraid you misunderstood this. The Midronome as Clock and Transport Master is already possible (for Ableton at least): simply activate external sync in Ableton.

But this has a few issues, the precision (since it is over USB-MIDI) for one, but also as you mentioned the latency (though you should be able to compensate the latency using Ableton's MIDI settings - it should work to a certain point).

So this is about using the sync with the plugin and 24P/2.4.P. modes to make sure the sync is tight, but at the same time control Ableton from the Midronome.

Ah, I see, didn't get that Nome = Midronome. :oops:

I deleted my posting to avoid confusion.

No worries at all!
