Hi Simon,
My primary use for Midronome will be to interface Ableton to eurorack.
So the CV outputs would ideally provide a clock and reset output.
This is not a trivial problem though, and there are many variants on the theme with regard to timing the reset pulse.
This article discusses some options:
https://learningmodular.com/master-clocks-reset/
This modules does "Reset output generating a reset trigger slightly preceeding the first clock signal":
https://www.shakmatmodular.com/products ... 0equipment.
These are things that need to be done to get the modules syncing properly, and is a pain in eurorack.
Happy to discuss, do any tests for you which can help work out the best way to do this.
Clock and Reset out for Eurorack - not as easy as one might think...
Re: Clock and Reset out for Eurorack - not as easy as one might think...
Hi
Thanks for the info and the links! I'll definitely look more into this.
Just FYI for now the reset is not a pulse but a jump from 0 to 5V, similar a the start/stop pin on the sync24/DIN Sync protocol - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DIN_sync
I'll do what I think is best before production, and then after many of you have a device we can look more into the specifics of how it works with each device. The device's firmware will be easily upgradable so it will be quick to make a firmware update to sort this out if needed
Cheers
Simon
