Re: Preorder

Yes not 100% sure at this point but I do not see why I should stop the pre-orders :)

Prices will not be as good as Early Birds though.

It's ok - I'll investigate :)
But not a huge priority at the moment so do not expect this anytime soon ;)

Re: Soundbrenner communication

Awesome idea, man, yes I'd love to implement that. That could easily be implemented in the add-on module since it will have WiFi capibilities.

Do you know how the Soundbrenner connects to DAW in terms of protocol?

Re: NO NC tap tempo switch

Oh NC/NO - okay I get it :D
I usually call it "polarity" of the momentary footswitch.

But yea my answer is still the same - a module sound like the way to go ;)

Re: Merger - Hub

Well I usually say it does not, but I guess you example prooves me wrong  But I would still say in most cases it's fine, just avoid chaining too much, use a MIDI Thru box instead, the Motu Micro lite for example. In your case try to remove the one device (the FM3 it sems?) that affects the cloc...

Re: NO NC tap tempo switch

Hey there - you're not the first one to ask about this, and I was literally checking it today!! I'm not exactly sure what you mean with NO or NC, but I'll assume it's some sort of simple footswitch used to tap the tempo on the pedal. I thought there was a way it could work with the current hardware ...

Re: Why is the TRS labelled "CV"?

I know I know :D But I think CV nowadays means more than just "control voltage", for me it means anything related to modular synths? In my head, the whole device is a clock, and the outputs are labeled: * MIDI for "MIDI Clock" * CV for "CV Clock", i.e. clock for devices...

Re: Midi and MTC

Ok nice to know - have not had the time to do that so far, and I'm gonna be honest it's not high in the priority list right now  But if what you want is tight sync between your Logic and the Midronome then I highly suggest you use DAW Sync (which uses an audio signal), because there is no way ...

Re: Metronome audio only while playing

RIght now you need to press both the Mute and the Play button - then yes it will stop. Implementing it so the device mutes automatically when you press play/stop is literally a few seconds to implement but it will be very confusing for people who want independent control of mute & play, so it wi...

Re: How does sync work between multiple Midronome units?

No sorry it's not a two-way sync, one is the master and the other is following.

So if you turn the knob on the slave one nothing happens.

With the future module and Ableton Link you'd be able to have two devices linked and both masters (because that's the way Ableton Link works).

Re: Why is the TRS labelled "CV"?

You're spot on cowboy, with literally everything you wrote :)

Right now if you want the run signal you can only get 24ppq (DIN mode), but I'll change it so you have 1-24ppq clock or run signal independently on each side of the jack.

Improved control & sync to Ableton

Hey guys So the idea here is to be able to 1) sync to Ableton tightly using DAW Sync 2) but still control Ableton using the device (changing the tempo and sending MIDI Start/Stop The way this would work is: When Ableton transport is PLAYING: the device syncs to it via DAW Sync, you cannot change the...

Hej Cat! :) Sorry your topic must have fallen through the net. Just looking at your images, wow gosh... This is bad  I suggest you have a look at this video where I show the exact same thing (MIDI Clock sent over USB) but with the Midronome so you have an idea. It still fluctuates - that's beca...

Hey there! Yes Kickstarter is relaunching - tomorrow :) Join the mailing list (on the website) for more info. Re: Metronome subdivisions

Hey Monovan :)

I think there is already a subject on that matter in the "New Features" forum. Currently the Midronome's metronome only has a different down beat (first beat of the bar), where you can adjust both volume and sound.

Re: Latency adjustment

Plan is to send a big survey to all backers after the campaign so that you can all vote on which extra feature you want to see on the device first. But I think the tempo presets are also very popular 8-) At the end I'm the one taking the final decision, and I really see both tempo presets, tempo dec...

Re: Swing

Everything is possible Gavin :D

As long as the hardware is well thought - and it is ;) - it's just a matter of time and effort, and in this case, what features the backers care most about. But this is definitely on the list of possibilities!

Re: Swing

Thanks max and noted about your TR808 ;)

Interesting discssion you guys are having - maybe an option to choose between 8th and 16th is not overkill at the end ;)

But again if you are doing this with the DAW audio sync track, then you can simply decide ;)

Re: Swing

Ha ha well now I am confused gavin  Your first image was an 8th note shuffle (same as mine - just a different way of writing it), and your second image was a 16th note shuffle... So which is it? :D (I could also easily implement both with a setting to select but if you're saying everybody want...

Re: Swing

That's actually a GREAT idea!! It would only work when the device is slave to a DAW unfortunately but it would actually work right out of the box :D The only thing will be the tempo displayed on the device that will jump a bit (but I could probably detect it and improve that). Question regarding swi...

Re: "Sync Signal Contents" questions

Hey masi I am confused why you are mentioning a metronome? The sync signal is a special audio signal, it has nothing to do with a metronome. And yes right now if you send a metronome to the device it will indeed not sync to it (but it could potentially work as I explained here: https://forum.midrono...

Re: Sync to any regular signal (pulses) from 1ppq to 24ppq

Ha ha fair enough - the slave word thing I just have no idea what else to use? I could not find an equivalent that is clear enough IMO. The only thing I could find was "X syncs to Y" (=Y is the master) and "X syncs Y" (=X is the master), but it really is not as clear... Any ideas...

Re: Tempo detection from actual audio beat

Hey there - thanks for asking :D Yes this would clearly work once we have the Beat Detection in Place (from the add-on Module as explained here: https://forum.midronome.com/viewtopic.php?t=70 ). But actually if all you need is tempo detection from a metronome it might even work without the new add-o...
