Re: Use the Midronome Dial to Control Daw
Actually no that makes a lot of sense - correct me if I am wrong, but what you would want is: The DAW is still the master using the plugin But turning the dial on the Midronome just sends information to the DAW to change its tempo (simply a command like "set tempo to 145" without sync invo...

Re: Inconsistent timing from AAX plugin
Ok, the video helps visualize it well actually. Plugin limitations Everything I've mentioned about the limitations of the plugin would not happen before the tempo change (as shown on the video). And if you record from the beginning of the session then I'm sure the plugin gets the correct tempo from ...

Re: Inconsistent timing from AAX plugin
Thank you for reporting! A few questions: What is the tempo you are using - is it changing? Are each recording pass from the same place in the song? Is that place snapped to the grid? Is it at the beginning of a bar? What is your sample rate? What size if your audio buffer? One way to check if the p...

Re: Ableton 11 not showing MIDI Out to Midronome 1 and 2
Ohhh yes a very good point I forgot to mention that! It's because MacOS "saves" the USB-MIDI interface configuration, so it's necessary to delete the device in the Audio MIDI Setup for the new interfaces to appear. Thanks so much for informing about it @backinthelab and thank you for repor...

Re: Missing GUI When Loading Plugin in FL21
What you see is the mix that is sent to my speakers. So for that mix, yes the DAW3 is all the way down, otherwise I'd hear that very loud syncing signal in my speakers, while I only want to send that to the Midronome

Re: "Full Stop" vs. "Pause" in DAW
Hi :) External MIDI Sync in FL Studio is very new, and you surely are one of the first to use it. The Midronome simply sends: MIDI SPP 0,0 + MIDI Start when you press Play, this should bring back the cursor to the beginning of the session MIDI Stop when you press Play again - which should stop the t...

Well the plugin has no GUI. It has no controls, so I thought GUI was not needed

Re: [F] Sync to 24ppq signal - improved sync to DAWs
A feature request: the ability to enable "steady clock" when using the new plugin to smooth out multiple rapid clock changes. I had my CPU unexpectedly max out doing something in the background and it of course caused a lot of popping and clicking in my DAW - and it freaked the F out of t...

Re: Hi there, top first experience with FW 2.0!
Nice to know about the MIDI. Regarding the volume, actually my bad, 12 o'clock is pretty normal (I get about the same on my interface) for a headphones output. You need to output 0.3V, and that is pretty loud is small impedance headphones. Besides, the dB scale is logarithmic compared to the output ...

Re: Midronome not receiving start from Ableton
Hi Jesse :) Thanks for asking here. I'm not sure what you mean with "receiving start" - it's not really meant to :) All the plugin sends is a sync signal, which tells the Midronome "start syncing". Are you saying you want your sequencers to start at the same time you press play i...

Re: bpm formula for converting 6/8 time signature into x/4 on Midronome?
Now I'm just thinking loud whether the VST3 plugin could be upgraded to detect a x/8 time signature and send its 24 PPQ signal with the corresponding "suitably multiplied" tempo to Midronome. That's a great idea :) Could you create a topic in this forum about it? https://forum.midronome.c...

Re: Audio Sync Track Necessary?
There is indeed :) But it's true the E-RM plugin will work as well. In fact anything that sends sharp sounds at 24ppq will work. Just FYI, the Midronome plugin sends MIDI data as well, and I would say its code is slightly more optimized and cleaned up compared to the E-RM code. The main idea with ma...

Re: Hi there, top first experience with FW 2.0!
Worth to mention: I had to set the gain of that headphone output to very loud 12 o'clock to get a sync with Midronome. Below that I've got - - -. This sounds strange, unless your audio interface is not very loud, it should not need that much volume. Is the volume in the DAW and in the audio interfa...

Re: Negative Offset/Shift/Latency
What if you use the E-RM plugin instead of a audio sync track? Yes you can simply add a delay in your DAW (most DAWs can do that, for some you might need a bit of a trick like adding a plugin to delay). In Ableton it's the exact same process whether it's a plugin or a file sending the sync signal: ...

Re: Negative Offset/Shift/Latency
Not sure if this is already planned, but I love to be able to shift the offset (positive clock latency) of both tracks, not just one to compensate for the other. Shifting is always relative to something. If you are syncing to the DAW and want to shift them both relative to the DAW's transport, then...

Re: [WIP] ROADMAP for Firmware v2.0

Re: [WIP] Minor Feature: configure ANLG speed via MIDI CC Commands
Changing this speed in the middle of a song can create interesting grooves, especially when using speeds like 3ppq or 6ppq which gives a triplet feel :) Note that the Midronome is only applying the change on the next beat (next quarter note), so that you never end with a out of sync ANLG clock (whic...

Re: Stop sending MIDI Clock
Idea from Sofus: an option where the Midronome, on top of being disabled when not synced to the DAW, would send MIDI Start and MIDI Stop automatically when the DAW starts and when the DAW stops. This has been implemented in Firmware 2.0 - which will be released soon. See https://forum.midronome.com...
