Re: Device will not enter bootloader mode

I actually think my play button is defective which is why it doesn't enter bootloader. The unit won't play (pressing Play does nothing). No light on play button and the Pla on display does not show.

Finally arrived - packaging might need improvements

Hey Simon, I finally received my device today. The unit appears to be in working order and doesn’t look damaged however the box might need some reinforcement inside. The part that holds the device is easily ripped and the contents slides around. The box also looks like it was slightly crushed. IMG_1...

[DONE] Sync File Generator - auto file names suggestion

By default the Sync Generator will create a file called sync.wav. If you rename this and forget to append .wav, the file is created without an extension (this might cause some users confusion). First suggestion is to omit the extension in the save as file name and just automatically append .wav rega...

An App for configuring the Midronome?

After reading through the manual and noticing a lot of features (main plus extended), I'm curious if there is any thought on creating an application that can set these parameters? As much as a polarizing company (rhymes with Dehringer) is, their Synth Tool app has the ability to both update firmware...

Can I ask what the reason is for not sending the pulse on the first beat?

Re: Daw Sync Plug-In + Usamo comparison

Yeah there will always be tradeoffs when it comes to computers/audio/etc. If the pros/cons are documented then the choice is at least in the consumers hand.

I just noticed that the sync file generator doesn't support fractional bpm's (eg 87.4). Time to submit another bug report :-)

Re: Daw Sync Plug-In + Usamo comparison

I can understand the annoyance with having multiple plugin formats (vst, au, aax, and now clap) and many different DAWs. Sometimes supporting "most" is better than "none". In the IT security world, people often say "well I can't implement all of these requirements so I'm not...

Re: Trying to understand syncing DAW/Midronome/Ext Hardware

Thank you Simon. So you're saying the most accurate solution is the DAW sync, okay. I'm still a bit fuzzy on the details on what needs to be pressed when for this to work. Press play on DAW, press play on Midronome? Or does the Midronome listen to MIDI Start/Stop messages? The video you linked to sh...

Trying to understand syncing DAW/Midronome/Ext Hardware

I'm just trying to understand the options for synchronizing a DAW, Midronome, and external hardware. Since the Midronome is going to have the most stable clock it would probably make most sense to have this as the primary (right?). And I do use two of the DAW's that allow for being synced externally...

So happy that the target was achieved in well under the first hour (and even a day before the general public can pledge!)

Awesome work Simon and team!

3.5mm input jack?

Will we be able to to send MIDI into this jack (eg MIDI keyboard) and have it merged with the clock signal from the DAW or the internal clock?

Re: [ACCEPTED - WIP] Send MIDI Clock from the USB port

Negative, it only supports VST2 right now. They're working on VST3 support but no ETA.

But since it can be synced via MIDI Clock I think that would be a good option for the time being.

Re: [ACCEPTED - WIP] Send MIDI Clock from the USB port

@Simon
For what it's worth, Reason can also be synced via external MIDI Clock but it cannot host VST3 yet so it can't run the audio sync plugin.

Re: [ACCEPTED - WIP] Send MIDI Clock from the USB port

Should the FAQ on the main website be updated to include this information?

Currently under "Does the USB port also send MIDI" the answer is:

No, the USB is only used for power.
Notice that you can still use a USB port of a computer to deliver power to the Midronome.

Re: Does the display have an auto shutoff?

Hi Simon,

Thanks for the reply. Good to know about the brightness settings and that if there is a more widely spread demand for an auto-shutoff that it could be implemented. I'm just 1 user who has yet to even get the device! :D

Does the display have an auto shutoff?

Wondering if the large BPM display has an auto shutoff incorporated? I won't need to see BPM all the time and from the videos it looks quite bright. Would definitely like to see a screen saver mode that just turns it off when you're not adjusting parameters.
