Hi Frank!
Nice to know your opinion on the matter
But yes I agree, I also prefer a constantly running clock (I mean at the end I did make the Midronome for myself, so yes my opinion matters ). So no worries if this is implemented, it will be an option
Cheers

Re: Tempo detection from actual audio beat
Hey Roland! Thanks for writing :) Yes I agree - such a feature could be awesome! Not sure if you saw but there has been quite a few developments on the matter, the plan is to add this feature to the Midronome as part of a fancy add-on Module (which will have Beat Detection but also Ableton Link and ...

Re: Click Audio Out connection to stage XLR snake
Hi TIm :) Wow - unbelievable, I actually completely forgot about phantom power... Very ironic for an audio engineer  TRS to XLR will work perfectly fine, it's like any other balanced signal. DI box will also work but is not necessary (that's the whole point of the balanced signal). As for whet...

Stop sending MIDI Clock

Re: The Midronome Module - Ableton Link + Bluetooth + Beat Detection
Hi Lee! Thanks for writing here. Awesome to get that kind of information, super useful! There are so many usages the Midronome touches already, it's hard to know them all so it's very useful when people bring another one to my attention. Never thought about Lighting designer until now, and even the ...

Re: Power Consumption Estimate
Hi :) Well the device gets its power from the USB port, which means it is bus powered, there is no other power supply :) It works with USB 2.0 which means it does not draw at any point more than 500mA (so yes your 2021 Macbook Pro will work with it without any issue). As for how much of the battery ...

Re: Midi in - Metronome out
Hi :) The short answer is that if all you need is a metronome I doubt the Midronome is the solution. The Midronome can be used in many different ways though, so I suggest you investigate a bit more how it could improve your setup. The whole point is that its MIDI clock is precise and stable, and tha...

Re: Add a Word Clock output setting
Hey there :) That's an interesting idea indeed :D It's a little bit outside of the scope for the Midronome, as WorldClock is tempo independent, but why not! I do not know much about World Clock (other than from a user's point of view), but I doubt the current hardware would be able to provide a dece...

Re: Start devices without stopping already playing devices connected to same midronome
Ok that's interesting - you want to be able to start your sequencers but not to stop them? Why is that?
But what you described would work I believe You will also need to stop the MIDI Clock messages from the second port otherwise you will have double clock messages

Re: The Midronome Module - Ableton Link + Bluetooth + Beat Detection
That's an interesting debate! Because I did not think Ableton Link is really designed for Live use? ... WiFi is not only unreliable but also the way Link syncs things, the fact everybody is a master - it is all about making things easy which is super important (and amazingly done) for a quick jam or...

Re: Start devices without stopping already playing devices connected to same midronome
Hey there :) The Midronome can change its Mute button to make it a second play button. In this mode you have 2 play button, one for each port, and they work independently. Alternatively, you can let the Mute button be, and simply configure the Play button so it only sends start/stop on one of the 2 ...

Re: Disable master mode when syncing to DAW
Idea from Sofus: an option where the Midronome, on top of being disabled when not synced to the DAW, would send MIDI Start and MIDI Stop automatically when the DAW starts and when the DAW stops. This way to record a sequencer all you need is to press play in the DAW, then the sequencer will start au...

Re: Signature required? & DAW transport
No worries Gavin - but yea maybe that question should have been on the thread about swing
And yes generating a sync file should be easy enough, I can totally do that. But I think many people are rooting for swing being implemented in hardware, so let's see what the new features votes give

Re: Signature required? & DAW transport
Hi John Things have changed a bit since my last reply. At this point I am pretty sure there will not be any plugin, at least nor for now. That is also configurable, you can set it to "on", then the clock is sent all the time, or "PLA" and then the clock is only sent when you press play

Re: CV sends only clock signal or also start/stop?
Hi yelg :) It sends start&stop as well, as the plug is a TRS (stereo), but only in "DIN sync" mode. In this mode the left/tip has a 24ppq analog clock, and right/ring has the start/Stop following the user pressing the play button. The start/stop is a 5V gate. There is already a new fea...

Re: With the Midronome as master, does its sync carry through to devices receiving the DAW’s clock?
Well I actually do not think Ableton would be able to receive the clock from the Midronome and then send it further to your audio interface (it seems it is what you are trying to do... Or maybe I misunderstood). But if the synth you are trying to sync has in fact DIN-MIDI, then yea that is definitel...

Re: With the Midronome as master, does its sync carry through to devices receiving the DAW’s clock?
Hi Rob The short answer is probably not. This is a USB keyboard, so the only way to send it the clock is over USB, which is not going to be very precise. You could try to forward the Midronome's clock sent over USB, i.e.: Midronome -> MIDI Clock over USB-MIDI -> computer -> MIDI forwarding / MIDI Th...

Re: Current features - your thoughts
Hej Mathias #21 is not Beat Detection, i.e. you cannot send whatever audio you want (this will be possible in the future, with the module having Beat Detection), you have to send a specific sync signal like the one generated by the VST plugin (which you can put in a simple WAV file). In your case I'...

Re: Will the Midronome include internal virtual jitter-free ports?
Well that could potentially work as the Midronome will send the MIDI clock sync'ed to your DAW over USB. But really that's never going to be as precise as software-to-software, as the USB in particular will definitely add jitter and latency. Sorry Rob, the best way to solve this is definitely with a...
