Re: Swing

Everything is possible Gavin :D

As long as the hardware is well thought - and it is ;) - it's just a matter of time and effort, and in this case, what features the backers care most about. But this is definitely on the list of possibilities!

Re: Swing

Thanks max and noted about your TR808 ;)

Interesting discssion you guys are having - maybe an option to choose between 8th and 16th is not overkill at the end ;)

But again if you are doing this with the DAW audio sync track, then you can simply decide ;)

Re: Swing

Ha ha well now I am confused gavin  Your first image was an 8th note shuffle (same as mine - just a different way of writing it), and your second image was a 16th note shuffle... So which is it? :D (I could also easily implement both with a setting to select but if you're saying everybody want...

Re: Swing

That's actually a GREAT idea!! It would only work when the device is slave to a DAW unfortunately but it would actually work right out of the box :D The only thing will be the tempo displayed on the device that will jump a bit (but I could probably detect it and improve that). Question regarding swi...

Re: "Sync Signal Contents" questions

Hey masi I am confused why you are mentioning a metronome? The sync signal is a special audio signal, it has nothing to do with a metronome. And yes right now if you send a metronome to the device it will indeed not sync to it (but it could potentially work as I explained here: https://forum.midrono...

Re: MIDI-IN on input jack

Thanks for the info - that definitely picked my interest, I checked it out!! :D Well everything is possible really nowadays with a good combination of electronics and firmware. It could also be that they have not implemented the MIDI in according to the standard (i.e. not doing the isolated loop), w...

Re: Sync to any regular signal (pulses) from 1ppq to 24ppq

Ha ha fair enough - the slave word thing I just have no idea what else to use? I could not find an equivalent that is clear enough IMO. The only thing I could find was "X syncs to Y" (=Y is the master) and "X syncs Y" (=X is the master), but it really is not as clear... Any ideas...

Re: Latency adjustment

Hi! I'm really interested in buying Midronome, but negative MIDI clock offset is a must for me. Will it be implemented in the coming batch? Thanks! Hey monovan, thanks for asking! Well Ricky Tinez (Youtuber) already said he will not review a device if it does not have the clock shift option... So t...

Sync to any regular signal (pulses) from 1ppq to 24ppq

Hey there :) Right now, the Midronome can only slave to a special sync signal sent at 24ppq (as detailed here: https://www.midronome.com/technical-specs.html ), which is the signal sent by the Midronome VST plugin. This feature is about having the possibility to slave the Midronome to any regular pu...

Re: Tempo detection from actual audio beat

Hey there - thanks for asking :D Yes this would clearly work once we have the Beat Detection in Place (from the add-on Module as explained here: https://forum.midronome.com/viewtopic.php?t=70 ). But actually if all you need is tempo detection from a metronome it might even work without the new add-o...

Re: 3.5mm input jack?

Hey MlLaf Yes that's the idea - merge your MIDI notes with the clock from the Midronome. I'm still thinking about finding a "Midronome solution" to this problem - it will come eventually, either in the Midronome directly or in a form of an add-on ;) I am confused what you mean with "s...

Re: MIDI-IN on input jack

Well you would notice that the *one* thing the Flexiports do not do, is MIDI Input :D There is a reason for that: a MIDI Input is actually isolated from the rest of the circuit (I technically belongs to the device sending the MIDI), that is to avoid interferences and ground loops and so on. So even ...

Well your ASCII drawings are awesome :D And very clear ;) I understand the point with a TRS MIDI, but as I said this would be easily done with a simple DIY module, or by doing it over bluetooth once the official Midronome module is out. I will keep in mind to add it to the device, in case other peop...

Hi :) Thanks for the long and very detailed explanation. You make a very good point! :) A lot of people keep asking for the very few functionalities that the Multiclock has and the Midronome has not (MIDI merging f.ex.), but at the same time call the Midronome an "in-between" device (betwe...

Well Pieter exactly like the Ethernet on the Module, adding USB host also requires more expensive hardware and a lot of code work :D I do think it is a nice benefit for devices that have USB device and no DIN-MIDI. But how many devices can receive a MIDI Clock over USB (USB device) without having a ...

Re: The Midronome Module - Ableton Link + Bluetooth + Beat Detection

Yes exactly, that's the best feature of Link, that you can contorl the tempo both ways. Everybody becomes the master as soon as they change the tempo. I guess that's also where the name "Link" comes from, showing a two-way control ;) As for Ethernet, it will be a lot of work and will requi...

Hi :) So the short answer is: no the device cannot only sync to this special signal, which is composed of: * a 24ppqn audio pulse * the second part of the last pulse before the bar should be higher which is the signal generated by the Midronome VST plugin. The device uses the higher pulse to know wh...
