Re: U-SYNC for Windows

Hey HappyClocker, and hi all :) Thank you all so much for commenting here, it really helps giving an idea of what kind of setup you guys are using! :D You've all made it pretty clear that we should find a solution to get U-SYNC to work on Windows, in fact we started developping two different ideas t...

Re: [R] Midronome sends incorrect clock after stopping DAW (24P mode)

I guess I have to do some more testing. I suspect that my gear is set to Auto and when it receives a Stop message, it reverts to its internal clock, so it stops calculating the incoming midi pulses. Yes if that's the case it sounds like exactly what's happening - problem is it has time to get the &...

Re: Midronome sends incorrect clock after stopping DAW (24P mode)

Ideally, it should then send the original BPM and "catch up" the few ms it needed to conclude the external clock is stopped (lower than 30 bpm). You mean so that the timing is continuous? That's a whole different deal, and U-SYNC already does that extremely well. As for sending the tempo ...

Re: Click Audio Out connection to stage XLR snake

Apologies for the extremely late reply :) The current hardware will be damaged by phantom power. Sending phantom power into the device is not allowed. This has been added to the manual and is now official, again sorry, this should have been made clear much earlier.

Re: Midronome can get power from Xone PX5 mixer?

Well as long as your mixer can deliver basic USB power (just the usual power from USB 1.1 back in the 90's), then yes it should work :D
Either way nothing bad will happen if it does not work, just try it ;)

Re: Sync to 1-12ppq signal + improved tap tempo

Hi :) I cannot say for sure for now, but this might be delayed in order to make a Windows version for U-SYNC - as you may have seen on the Forums and the Facebook group. But I am confused why you would need this feature to sync to a metronome? You can simply let the Midronome generate the metronome ...

Re: [A] Midronome sends incorrect clock after stopping DAW (24P mode)

Hi Maarten So I've investigated this. The good news is I know exactly what is happening. The bad news is I am not sure if there is much I can do about it. TLDR : you should be able to solve this by making sure your devices always set their tempo to the incoming clock, whether they have received a MI...

Re: [ALREADY IMPLEMENTED] Option to always send clock, even when stopped

(I’m correct that it doesn’t do that already in that mode, right?) Or is there a way to do that already? Or am I maybe just misinterpreting the behavior of my gear? The bug I reported wouldn’t be an issue of Midronome keeps sending the correct clock after it receives a stop message, right? ;) No 24...

Re: [RELEASED] Firmware 3.0 & U-SYNC 1.0 - Key Benefits for Windows Users?

So what would be FW 3.0's key benefits for me? Well you don't have to upgrade, but there is no reason not to :) (except this bug ! but hopefully this is soon solved in a 3.1 version) The big thing about 3.0 is definitely U-SYNC which you will not be able to use (for now), but each new version solve...

Yes very good point and sorry about this, I forgot to mention it, the An.1 and An.2 settings have changed between pre-3.0 and 3.0. The settings saved on the device are left untouched after any upgrade but in this case the range of these two settings has moved by 1, which means whatever value you had...

Re: U-Sync Daemon - Testing Track Latency and Shift MS

Hi :) Interesting setup! I remember seeing that diagram before... :D Make sure you keep track latency to zero on the Midronome plugin track in Ableton. Using on other tracks is an interesting idea (to do "per synth" compensation), but yes it might affect the Midronome's timing. About your ...

I don't know the old method of doing it let alone needing a new one. But I figure if there is a new plugin than there were probably problems with the last one that this will address. There is technically nothing wrong with the 24P method, it does the job, and it's what people have been doing for th...

It's not gone completely but has been improved, replacing the value with a simple checkbox (which works with latencies up to 250ms).

Re: Midronome sends incorrect clock after stopping DAW (24P mode)

Hi Maarten,

Thanks for reporting. A few questions:
  • Is this new with FW 2.90, i.e. this is not the case with FW 2.0?
  • How is your other gear connected to the Midronome, via MIDI?
Thanks
