Re: “All MIDI notes off” function

Thanks John for writing here. I like this, and especially once the MIDI notes forwarding has been implemented this will be very easy to add. Question 1 : would it be a problem if this is sent all the time (no deactivate option)? i.e. can anyone find a case where you would not want to receive All Not...

Re: Pad/footswitch recommendation for tap tempo

Happy to hear you like the device Ash :) Footswitches can pretty much be anything, and the Midronome will accept both latching and non-latching, as well as automatically detect the polarity. Drum pads can be a bit more tricky because some are more sensitive than others, but hopefully the 3 sensitivi...

Re: [A] Crash with Play and Mute simultaneous press

Ableton Live was sending MIDI via USB to the Midronome, while Midronome was starting Ableton Live, so I don’t know if maybe the Start/Stop commands sent back to the Midronome could have something to do. Good news Fernando, I was able to reproduce the issue. I thought it was an actual bug in the Mid...

Re: Very loud hum in audio output when connected to computer

Thanks Matt for the feedback and the kind words! Happy to hear the device works for you :) Output switch is set to speaker and the level on the Midronome was set to 8 (I note from your ealier posts that I should increase that to 9 which I will try, though I imagine this will increase the difference ...

Re: Daw Sync Plug-In + Usamo comparison

Hi all - here is the Alpha plugin for those who want to try it. => https://files.midronome.com/tools/midronome-alpha-plugin-macos.zip It's Mac only, not signed (see Readme file), and there will be no official Midronome support on it. But I tested it on StudioOne and it works ok as long as you play f...

Wow, thanks Matt and beatbastelbaer for the detailed explanation - I hope this will help those of you who are fighting with this issue as well! @Matt: I am actually quite surprised by your results I must say? Could you tell us a bit more how your device is connected and to what, and in particular wh...

Re: [A] DIN Sync / sync24 timing issues

It seems there is the same issue when syncing a Korg Volca using the ANLG plug. This actually helps a lot because they are much easier to get than these vintage machines :D With the Volca it's easily solvable since it has MIDI as well. But I'm hoping I can get my hands on a Volca, find the issue, so...

Re: will Analog Sync work with external hardware?

Sounds like you should create a new topic or ask on the Facebook group for a question like that - then you might get answers from the community as well ;) I am not sure I follow 100%, but what I can say is: With Audio Sync (DAW Sync) you will be able to loop part of your song at the beginning, then ...

Re: [A] Crash with Play and Mute simultaneous press

Thank you for the reply Fernando. I'll give another go at reproducing the issue. There must have been something that you were previously doing that caused the bug to appear, maybe some stuff running in the background, data sent to the device over USB for example. I have your precise configuration fr...

Re: DAWs following Midronome

Thanks for the suggestion :) Regarding MTC, actually I did test it early on and I got terrible results. Laurent from the FB group also did a test with an MPC sending MTC to his DAW to see how it was performing and it confirmed my original tests: see comment on https://www.facebook.com/groups/midrono...

Re: Custom metronome click sounds

Oh I see :) Well basically the click sounds lie directly in the processor's memory which is very small. So there is space for about 4 more, hence my idea of making these 4 user configurable. You can consider all the other click sounds as just "bonus" click sounds, as these are not saved in...

Original topic: https://forum.midronome.com/viewtopic.php?t=150 This feature is about making a Midronome plugin (for example a VST or AU) which will be an alternative to the Sync File Generator when syncing Midronome to a DAW via Audio Sync (see the Midronome manual for more information about Audio ...

Re: Daw Sync Plug-In + Usamo comparison

Hi all :) So I've spent the last week investigating the possibilities. There is a new (ish) plugin interface called ARA which is a huge step forward to make a decent DAW plugin. ARA v2 seems ot be supported by most major DAWs accord to the ARA Wikipedia Page , and using it instead of a usual plugin ...

Any input? Sorry I must have missed your post somehow. I checked the files and imported them both in Studio One. They both work for me, the "does_not_work" one is not exactly at 120bpm though, more like 119.5bpm, so the display on the device is constantly changing between 119 and 120. It ...

Re: will Analog Sync work with external hardware?

There is no Ableton Link, at least not for now. As for being a master to the DAW, you can do this if your DAW can follow MIDI Clock (afaik: Ableton, Bitwig and Reason do). This syncing method is much easier to set up but it will not be as precise as Audio Sync. And I would suggest you use either MID...

Yes - that would be nice. -or- I would be just as happy if you re-designed what's on now, and made more of them a little more organic sounding. I'm really missing a good hihat, a shaker or three, or some more light percussion. Something that a singer/songwriter would maybe appreciate more. Thanks f...

Hi :) Well the loud noise you are hearing is the sync track :) It's not for you to hear, it's for the Midronome ;) Just send it to a separate (physical) output which you connect to the INPUT of the Midronome. Follow the steps in the manual. Note that a new version and a few How-To videos are coming,...

That's great news, I also record jams that last several hours. Changing the tempo while I play is quite important for me as well, so I hope you find a solution for that too. Re: CV output is noisy?

Am I using the wrong type of cable? Is there a way to reduce the "noise" on the Midronome side to just the clock pulses? Hi Dave Yes that's unfortunately true, it's caused by a ground loop, which makes the Midronome's display noise take the wrong path. Basically that noise should be on th...
