Re: Resync does not work with Roland TR-8S

This is exactly the way I tested it. I run the Beatstep, the 606 and the TR8S with the same pattern then I bring each one out of sync and try to resync with long press When I look at the MIDI signals I see the following: Resync sends another START signal. BSP and 606 do the job, TR8S don´t. This is ...

Re: Resync does not work with Roland TR-8S

Hi Simon, I can confirm that the TR8S does not resync with long pressing the start button. As mentioned, Stop - Start works fine. I tested some other gear, Beatstep Pro - works as designed TR606 (DIN sync) - works as designed Cheers Frank will dive into the TR8S Editor later, maybe there is a settin...

Re: [F] DIN Sync / sync24 timing issues

Same results here,
tested it now for 2 hrs very deep with rapid speed changes, multiple start stop events, Iongtime test with the speeds were I found the drifting before.
The timing is 100% correct, not the slightest drifting or offset.
Congratulations Simon,
great work !

Re: [A] DIN Sync / sync24 timing issues

Hi Simon,
is there any progress in your research according the DIN sync drifting issue ?
The DIN sync possibility was the main reason for me to purchase the Midronome.
Let me know if I can do some further testing,
cheers,
Frank

Re: Very loud hum in audio output when connected to computer

Hello Simon and Midronomists, lets get things sorted. We have two different scenarios here. 1 USB ground loops when the Midronome is connected via USB to a PC/Laptop/DAW this one can be eliminated by separating the USB power and data as I wrote above 2 Power supply caused ground loops coming from an...

Re: Very loud hum in audio output when connected to computer

Howdy friends of Midi, here are some thoughts and ideas about the USB ground loop thing. The Arturia USB splitter is not exactly rocket science, in the end it is a very simple thingie that devides the USB Power supply and the data signal. USB uses 4 wires/pins +5V Ground data + data - You can easily...

Re: Very loud hum in audio output when connected to computer

Hi, this is a groundloop problem. If you need the USB connection to your computer you can solve this with an USB Y adapter cable like the one that comes with the Arturia Keystep 37, this one has USB B connectors. https://synthanatomy.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Keystep-37-Hub.png I couldn´t find ...

Re: [A] DIN Sync / sync24 timing issues

Hi Simon, I made a test with the DIN 24ppq signal on one channel and a MIDI synced 4/4 beat on the other and I can see, that the Midronome sends correct 24 5V high peaks. For more testing I synced the 606 with this setup: Midronome -> MIDI -> Keystep37 -> DIN sync -> 606 and there is not the slighte...

Re: [A] DIN Sync / sync24 timing issues

Hi Simon, now I did some tests with audio recordings of 4/4 Beats, the TR606 DIN sync device is on the left channel the TR8S MIDI sync device is on the right channel with e.g. Audacity you can see very clear if there is a offset and here are some results: - I cannot reproduce the start offset issue,...

Re: [A] DIN Sync / sync24 timing issues

Hi Simon and to all DIN sync´ists, I know that the TRS MIDI Adapter has a different Pinout :) , but the Arturia devices come with three Adapters, two TRS - MIDI and one TRS - DIN sync , thats the one with black TRS Plug. The cable is only available in a "spare parts pack" with 4 Adapters h...

Re: [A] DIN Sync / sync24 timing issues

Hi Simon, the Midronome arrived today, the Firmware update was really easy and the Midi clock works out of the box. I have a TR606 and tried to sync it with the Adapter cable (TRS - DIN) that came with the Arturia BeatstepPro (or Keystep37) and can tell you, that one doesn´t work. (works fine with t...

Re: Stop sending MIDI Clock

Hi outthere, this sounds somehow strange to me, because the main reason for me to pre-order this device was exactly the opposite, that the midronome is NOT doing this and sends clock signals all the time. I am really annoyed of my other gear that exactly shows this behaviour, I want to decide by mys...
